Hello fellow hunters new to forum, live in Colorado for 30 years and live for all things Bowhunting. Like everyone else just waiting to see how we all do with our hunting licenses this year. I did surprisingly score a New Mexico unit 16c 2nd archery tag which I am over the moon about. If anyone would like to share any intel about unit with me Id be extremely appreciative. Heading down to unit to get the lay of the land in 2 weeks and would love some or any tidbits of intel from someone who maybe will not be hunting there this year or anytime soon so i don't mess them up or find there Bull of a lifetime. BTW I am always a DIY, Camping elk hunter. Thanks

Not much to offer but I know a little. In your shoes I would start my scouting on the southern end of the area around water sources. There are some write ups on here and a couple of other forums but not much that is going to give you specific direction. From what I know those elk don't migrate much so areas you find now might still be good in the fall if there is still water. Good luck!

Thanks Hilltop, my plan is to start on southern end , seems like SE corner has Big Bulls and more Hunters and outfitters. Whereas the SE corner is more remote walk in and horse access but still some good Bulls maybe not as good. So yea thank you for the info and I will take it and build on it.
