Hi there or G'day as we usually say,
I am in Queensland, Australia, which is on the east side of the country. I'm an avid deer hunter as well as other big game. I've decided that it's about time to start treating myself to a few things and an overseas deer hunt will be one of them. I turn 40 next year so I want to treat myself to a big hunt. I'm looking at trying to do an Elk hunt with maybe a moose or mule deer thrown in too.
I'm starting an unintentional collection of Ruger No 1 rifles which stemmed from an unexpected love affair with them as once I had one I found it wasn't enough and another two that I 'needed' quickly found their way to my gun safe. I've already got my eye out for more. So far I have a 300 Win Mag in stainless/laminate, a 338 Win Mag and a 9.3x74 both in walnut/blued. Other than those my favourite deer rifles are a Weatherby Mark V Accumark 270 Wby Mag and a Remington 700 375 Rem Ultra Mag.
We have 6 species of deer over here and I plan on hunting them all one day. Plus others that the world has to offer.
Between now and next year I plan on gathering as much info as I can before my hunt so I apologise in advance for any stupid questions I may ask...
Thanks all.
