I got a pm recently from someone that joined in 2011 and had 0 posts. I get a few from guys with none or very few posts and most of them I never get a 2nd pm, a thankyou or ever hear from them again. Anymore I give very brief general info at first. If I get a reply and they seem to want to talk then I will help them.
I've gotten a few from 0 post# folks asking about Texas WT hunts.

I got less posts than you....it must be my charming personality that my wife reminds me about.

I will say I had a nice phone call with a 0 post member last night that had some questions. Origianlly I told him to PM what questions he had or to give me a call and I would do what I could to answer but I was a rookie in Western hunting too. Wasn't sure if I would here from him or not but I'm glad I was pleasantly surprised when he called. I found out he is another Ohio guy that is stationed overseas right now. You never know who someone is but I try to give the benefit of the doubt and sometimes with more chances then I probably should. But I guess I try to always pay it forward. I know I didn't get here without some help.

I am still an FNG. It was just crazy how many new member intros there were in such a short period of time.
We are aggressively promoting the forum for the first time. That is why the surge in new members. There will be many more. There is always a ton when tag results come out in each state too.

I will offer my consulting services on how to get a tag in my home state. It's some top secret, classified info I'm willing to dish out free of charge.

I get the most PM's from low posters that I never hear back from about a CO ML hunt I went on a few years ago and was asking for info on here about as a new guy. lol

I would much prefer a nicer sounding civilian marker.....like ENH(eager new hunter) than an old course military marker that shows a distancing of oneself from another.

As an experinced hunter...its up to us to embrace, educate, and pass on the privilage. Not distance ourselves as pros vs FNG's.

The whole post title just rubbed me a little coursely.

I wasn't lookin to rub any one the wrong way. I didn't realize there was a more aggressive marketing campaign to get traffic to the site like IKIC said. Scott if you want to change the title to something else that is fine.
Cheers

Guess I'm lucky i never have used or recieved PM's untill a week or 2 ago. When i sent some information to someone and now its started a conversation on the topic, the only one I received out side of that was from a person responding with information i asked about in a thread on optics. So i luckily have not had any bad experience with PM's.

Same here Musket...answer a question, point in the right direction...and get dropped like a hot potato. No respect.
