The Ruger Hawkeye Hunter in 300 Winchester Magnum would be an excellent rifle. My son has a Ruger MK II in 6mm Remington and it has been a great shooting and reliable rifle.

My son has a Leupold 4.5-14x40 VX3 with the B&C reticle which is simple to use and effective to 500 yards. I also have the same scope on my 280AI and really like the scope. They have served us well.

Weatherby Vanguard would also be a sold pic to look at. I feel they build a good solid rifle.

I am very lucky to get it. Ruger didn't make very many #1's in .300 Wby and I bought it used off the internet. It was in the factory box with all the Ruger info and was unfired. I paid #1200.00 for it about 5 years ago. It shoots less than moa out to 500 yards ,which is a far as I have shot it.

I have been shooting a .300 Wby for years. I have a beautiful Ruger#1b in .300 Wby with a Leupold VXIII 4x12 on it with the Leopold Ballistic Turret tuned to my reloads.View attachment 48345
I'm with you and love my Ruger #1's. A 300 Winchester in one would be fantastic but the OP would have to find a used one which might be tough to do. I have 2 ruger 1B's and both are fantastic rifles that shoot very well.
