You ever have that nagging ache that you can't shake? Like I don't need a new 28 Nosler.... but I want one. lol
Was chatting with a guy and he told me I'd be better off with a 7 SAUM or a 7WSM. The WSM is very close to the 28.

Just thought I'd throw this out for conversation.

I've been fighting off the urge to pick up a JM 336 Marlin. I don't need one, I already have a couple Winchesters.. But I want one, haha.

Our new house project has been a pretty good distraction though, both for time and funds.

I thought about a 7mmSTW.

I don't believe that the 7WSM is very close to the 28 Nosler. The 28 Nosler is closest to the 7mmSTW where you can push a 160 grain bullet around 3300 fps which neither the WSM or SAUM can reach (safely)

It all comes down to if you want a 28 Nosler then build one.

I only used my old pre-64 model 70 Winchester in 30-06 for about 50 years.
Great rifle and there's still nothing wrong with it.
A little while ago I got the same feeling as Bonecollector and I decided what the heck.
So I had a .28 Nosler custom made … there's a thread about it on here somewhere.
It really is a tremendous caliber, it loves Berger 195gr bullets and shoots them right at 3,000 fps.
The groups are very tight and I've only killed a black bear and mule deer with it so far but both literally dropped in there tracks.
I like it and I'm glad I have it.

Sorry, I mis-spoke. You are correct Jim. It was the STW.

I have been thinking of getting a 410 upper for my AR so as my boys get older they can shoot both my 22LR and a 410. Figure with the AR lower I can adjust the stock quicker as they get bigger.
