Yeah I read it. Heck in Ryan hatches little paragraphs at the beginning I think he even called them. Thanks for sharing feather. This is beyond astonishing and as a NV hunter this sickens me. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this stuff out. I would love to hear what NDOW has to say about this specific article written by such a credible source. This needs to be read by every NV hunter and pressure needs to be brought on NDOW. 014 is and always has been my first pick when putting in for deer and I have spent many seasons hunting the granites, it is amazing the change this has made and I am thankful for it. Have you read part 2 feather? If so can you give a quick rundown? I don't subscribe to Muley Crazy but I may now that they published this article.
That's a great point, the article touches on it when it talks about the studies of lion and coyote diets and habitat. I just found this letter that spells out the waste and hippy bullcrap that NDOW is using this money for. It is a good letter that was written last fall by the NV Forearms Coalition http://www.nvfac.org/Portals/0/documents/NVFAC letter re predator management fee.pdfSo what do they do with the $3 predator fee they charge with my license every year? Seems like that would be able to fund projects like this.
A ndow biologist watched an eagle sit on a power line and kill 25 sage grouse. He was talking at one of the dinners my grandpa was at. It took and killed 25 sage grouse in 1 day from the same spot. Crazy!I would assume the biggest thing affecting the sage grouse (assuming they are actually having problems and they arent just a tool to take our public lands away, which I wouldnt doubt a bit) is coyotes. So spending that money to thin out the coyotes would help everything.
That is alot for 1 eagle in 1 day and Im sure its not the only eagle that does that.A ndow biologist watched an eagle sit on a power line and kill 25 sage grouse. He was talking at one of the dinners my grandpa was at. It took and killed 25 sage grouse in 1 day from the same spot. Crazy!
The common denominator is it seems to be about money most of the time. Unfortunately. That is alot for 1 eagle in 1 day and Im sure its not the only eagle that does that.
Another thing that really bothers me about these studies and all the money they cost is there are biologists, game wardens, ect already out in the field. It seems like part of their job is to study all these things and they should know whats going on in their area without an additional study.
Same could be said for the government, heck isn't ndow a government agency??As in how they can waste the most money that could be used for something productive......
