In this situation the American Indian leaders need to step up and do what is right. They need to respect the resource. They already seem to have a bad history of doing this on their own lands. We all know the settlers did not set a very good example. I have a letter from a family member writing back home about his travels and hunting in South Western Arkansas. In the 1860's "our party of 5 killed 70 buffalo, 30 bear, and 50 deer all in the best order. It is land covered with stock." I am not Indian, but both of my children's great grandmothers were 1/2 Indian. They are not affiliated with any tribe.
nothing wrong with indian blood or being proud of ones heritage or even affiliating with a tribe .
however , we are all americans . united under one nation , one rule of law or we are not!
those who choose to set their own laws are called criminals and should always be treated as such.

I do NOT support the extension of their rights. Its a crock of crap in my opinion.

If it does pass and they are awarded more hunting grounds I propose the following amendments.

Indigenous tribes shall be forced to only hunt with homemade bows with homemade arrows, sticks, spears, tomahawks, and bolas. All of which would need to be made without the use of the white mans modern tools.

Furthermore, they shall dress in clothing that they made from their kills and shoe their feet with traditional apparel made from the animals they harvest. No use of vehicles, no horses (Keep in mind horses were not here when "Their people" started to inhabit the land.

They want to hunt like their ancestors? If the bill passes they shall comply and hunt with the tools their ancestors use.

None of this driving around with whisky bottles rolling around the floorboards hanging a 30-06 out the suburban window crap....
