My kids went on their first antelope hunt with me this weekend. I had coaching commitments on opening day so we didn't get to go out until that night. We got out to our area after dark and set up a quick camp, listened to the coyotes howling sitting around a small fire and then climbed into the pickup topper for the night. At about 5 am I woke up to elk bugling around our camp. Beautiful sunrise and then we had some breakfast and headed out. The kids were in my back pocket the whole time. We belly crawled through the sage and they were laying on each side of me when we took this buck. One of my best times as a father so far. I apologize for not having the antelope cleaned up a little better but rain was coming so I wanted to get him dressed and get the kids back to camp.
Awesome hunt, awesome goat and way to go on taking your kids!
My 3 year old daughter wanted to go with me also however this was my first ever antelope hunt so I didn't know what to expect! She would have enjoyed it very much and was very excited for my harvest even 450 miles away. I'm sure your kids were very excited and probably hooked for life!
