I happened to be in the same area you were in. We were driving by when you were dragging your buck into camp. We called the spot below your camp the ok corral. It was like a shooting gallery down there every day. Great looking bucks, we had a blast and are looking forward to another trip next year.

ha! that's funny! Yeah dragging that stupid buck was a story in itself. I killed it up on the ridge above me and supposedly my buddy was just down the road heading back and had a skinning gambrel his brother made. Since it was downhill, I just steered him down the hill. I get to the opening and my buddy is no where to be found. turns out he was chasing does all across the unit. eventually, we get the thing on this home made gambrel (which I suggested be made of square stock) and his brother had made it from round stock....which of course bent under about 12 pounds of pressure- so I drug him out for nothing!

Stalking a dead doe. HA! Im surprised you were the first one to call me out on that CrimsonArrow. So Im glassing a valley and see a decent buck standing about half a mile away. to his left are two bedded antelope. (so I thought) I had filled my buck tag and just had a doe left. I stalked to about 200 yds and the standing buck eased away. The bedded goats didn't move. I slowly glassed and stalked up to 80 yds. I glass again and realize the body position is weird for a bedded goat- head down on the dirt. 1 is a doe bedded and another 100 yds or so is a dandy buck bedded...also with his head down. By this time I figured they were dead but I only needed 20 more yds to be within a sure kill range so I continued my stalk. I ranged and glassed again at 60 yds and saw some flies. walked up and the does was hit right behind the shoulder perfect...been dead for a day or two. I walk to the buck....he was a stud! very close to b&c. also hit right behind the shoulder and been dead a while. the best I could figure, someone shot them, wanted a B&C buck and this one was just shy so they let both goats lay and rot...I can't fathom another circumstance?

Yeah opening day was like a shooting gallery at a carnival. That picture you have of the antelope buck feeding Is funny too me. I have video and pictures of him drinking water out of the road just across the cattle guard. I had too drive up on him before he would move.

We stayed in Casper at a hotel and drove out every day. We killed 13 between 5 of us. I was able to get my 2 bucks and 4 does.

That was the biggest of the 2. My buddy killed a nice non typical at the same time I killed this one.
