I got my mule deer euro back last weekend and was able to put it on the wall in the living room. I had a good story planned that included a bivy, backpack, and many miles logged in the timber. But the reality is this deer walked behind my house while my family was eating breakfast one morning before school/work. My wife noticed and told me to look. I didn't' have binoculars but could immediately see from the body size and what I could see for horns that I better take a closer look. I ran downstairs and came up with binos and immediately realized it was a shooter and was walking about 150 yards from my back door. The rest is history. From the side he looks better than from the front but has pretty good forks. Drove the truck right to it and used the tractor for skinning. I can't image a hunt getting much easier but I was due for some luck as the last couple of years has been pretty rough for hunting.

Gotta love the bucket loader, drive the tractor out to the buck. Load em up in the bucket then use the bucket as a hoist once back to the house. Farm / ranch perks at it's best!!!! We do the same thing in Nebraska on the family farm, only with whitetails. Congrats!!!

That's awesome, when I lived in Kansas my wife worked every weekend. She was on contract with KU Medical center in the ER. We just had our 2 girls at that time. During rifle season, I sat in my daughters room and shot a few deer right out the window of the house. Only option I had for hunting!

While it makes a great story about backpacking many miles to find a buck, and then bring him out in your pack.... It's really hard to beat driving the tractor up to your buck, driving him back to the house, and gutting/quartering while he's hanging!

... or elk or moose...or... If this danged apple id thing was not disabled from a cc hack, I'd post a pix of a moose that would make purists scream and meat hunters just grin. It includes a front end loader. It was fair chase, just offered up like this buck. When the hunting God's hand you a gift, and you want to, kill it. Very nice buck.
