UH---You have to log into the MRS like always and it tells you it's no longer available that way. There you'll see the 90 day free trial offer to click on and then you end up having to go into the store to order it. It finally allowed me to get through after a dozen tries and then when I hit submit it says I'll have an email authorization to look for to get it up and running. I'm heading there now to see if it's there and what happens next.
Make sure you check your junk mail and spam.

Scott PM sent with my e-mail. I just checked my e-mails as requested and I missed the e-mail on Friday. Followed the link and installed the app on my I-pad and was able to download the digital version.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Good deal, that means I don't have to do anything now. Thanks for checking!

ScottR---I got it and now have the latest issue of each magazine in my email that I can click on and then open it to read each page. However, it's not like my NRA digital where I can just click on "save as" and then put it into my documents file. I believe WB was saying how to save it in one of his posts, but is there a simple way for me to save them so I can erase those email messages into the trash can? Thanks for any help and now you can see why I like the printed copies, LOL!

Gunner, The reader they use isn't set up that way. You have to use the print function to get it in PDF format. It's a pain. Worse on an iphone as you need a secondary app to get it to PDF format.

Yeah, I was just being a smart Alec and "helping" with ScottR's suggestion.

I used the "print" method last night and made PDFs out of a couple of the MRS sections. Will do more later.

Add a "save as PDF" to the web and mobile screens and everybody will happy as pigs in slop.
That would be great if what you're saying is what I do with the NRA mag when it comes in an email. If I have to take any more steps like you guys are saying right now I will forget about this new technology and just read what's in the print version like I always have.

Guys, if you are using a tablet or a smart phone these are downloadable and can be saved to your device. Do I need to put together a video or two of how to use all of this?

I currently have no way to save an issue to ibooks (PDF) when using my iphone.

The "digital subscribers download today" link sends me to a subscription signup page or times out the browser. Clicking that little book icon in the upper right times out the browser.

I already subscribe to both paper mags and I do not want to switch to digital and not get the print version. The only thing I want to do online is look at a past MRS now and then and sometimes I look at the MRS before I get the mag in the mail if it comes out close to the entry deadline and I need to do research before it comes in the mail. This used to come with my subscription and now it doesnt. How much extra does that cost now?

Guys, I just came across this thread tonight.

I am the research editor for Eastmans' and the person behind many of the changes in the MRS this year.

Some changes you have seen already but you'll see a lot more in the next few issues. You will see a big expansion in coverage for some states and a big increase in data for nearly all states, plus we are making it much more visually interesting with lots more charts, graphs and maps, things you can digest much more easily than the big tables.

Last year the average MRS table had 12 columns, this year it will be 30, with many new data points like Hunters/100 Sq Miles, grades for trophy quality, opportunity, pressure, terrain, access and overall. For sheep, goat and moose, you'll now find the average horn and antler measurements for hunt units as available. States differ in what they track.

Talk all you want on the forum, but please send me suggestions and comments at [email protected] I am sincerely interested in your honest feedback and suggestions.

I signed up for the free 90 day trial and got both the EHJ and EBJ digitally.

So, if I change up my subscription to digital, will I just get emails everytime a new one comes out?

I have also been the copy editor for the last two years, so I take responsibility for any typos you see in the magazines.

They do occasionally come up despite my best efforts and those of the rest of the staff. I do think the number of typos is way, way down from a couple years ago and I grind my teeth every time it becomes apparent that I missed one.

No excuses, just remember that the average journal has 2,500-3,000 words, plus the MRS, and that the amount of information in an MRS is staggering, with sometimes 4,000 data cells in just one table. Still, I would appreciate it if you would bring to my attention any typos or errors that slip through, though I would prefer an email to [email protected] rather than reading it on the forum.

Thanks. You guys are terrific and my time reading your forum posts is generally time well spent.

Yup, and usually at least a week before print.

Trying to change the subscription online, and having a tough time.... Can you do it somewhere online?
