Hey guys. I've drawn an "Any Moose" tag for the southeast corner of the Bighorn Mountains and was wondering if anyone that has been up in this area had any suggestions. I've been doing quite a bit of research, but any advice from people who have been to this area before regarding hunting, camping, and meat processors would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Never hunted Moose but I have pictures of some nice bulls off of the Elgin park road. Every year when crossing the Big Horns to go deer hunting we would take the Elgin park loop to see the moose and I only remember one time we didn't see any bulls.

View attachment 15910 Sorry about being so late responding. We saw few bulls in August while scouting and filmed a really nice bull strip his velvet. Shot a 40" bull on the opening day of the archery season. The meat is exellent!!

Is medicine mountain in this hunt zone or is it too north? If so PM I have a spot for you since I will never be able to hunt it.

Oops didn't realize this was an old question!

For non-residents they gave out one tag last year. It took 16 points to draw the tag. If you are starting now, my best guess is it will take 25+ preference points for you if you ever draw it.

We really are enjoying the meat and there is plenty of it to share with family and frends. Well worth the pack out!!!
