moose deadline soon

anyone else going to put in for moose in Idaho this year?? I decided to throw my deer and elk draw chances out the window by putting in for moose. I think its my year to draw

i wish you luck! what section of Idaho did you put in for? you don't need to mention unit number. I think there a solid chance of a record bull being pulled out this fall. I wish they had sep tags for archery only bulls, to filter apps a bit. and there are a couple but all units should have that option, then again its hard enough to draw as it is.

Haven't been in the island park area for a few years are there still decent numbers around there? The last time i archery elk hunted there I seen 11 moose 8 of which were bulls and picked up one moose shed from the year before.

yes, there are solid moose numbers in island park area, and some big moose too but some of the big boys ive been seeing have been in places I never expected to see moose let alone freaks. and thanks guys, Alabama..... ill shoot you a pm.

I applied in the panhandle region. Good Luck to you as well, Ivorytip! Have you tried for moose before? It looks like residents have decent odds for moose. Not so much for sheep and goats.

I been thinking about applying for a sheep tag long and hard but with the price these days I think I will apply for deer/elk/antelope again since I live about 25 miles to far west to be a resident.

Really think I want to try my odds out in idaho this year. Where I want to try is about 2 hours from home. Also have some land and access to a small portion of private property around as well.

I'm thinking of putting in myself. The unit im thinking is a southern unit. My family owns a small piece of property in the unit and we have access to some other that hold a few moose. It's only a 2 hour drive from where I live and my ol man is up there every weekend so he can keep me informed on what he's seeing.
