I had a very enjoyable lunch with AKaviator today in Ridgeway, Co. It was great to meet another person with the same interests and Forum member. He was down here from Alaska on family visits. Great guy to talk to and has a lot of similar interests and background. I am definitely trying to put together some kind of Alaskan trip (hunting or fishing) down the road and will love to return the lunch he bought me. He also brought along some frozen halibut & salmon...what a great guy!

Thanks again..............

Been a little busy finishing up my hunting trailer and now I have to break down all my irrigation stuff as seasons over. Need to get everything drained and dried out before we get a freeze. I ordered a reproduction service manual which I may need. Probably won't get too much done on it until next spring.

There are still a few of us old goats left! LOL

I met up with akaviator also when I was in Alaska for a caribou hunt. Guess what he bought me dinner also, what a great guy. It is always fun meeting up with people from the forums great way to talk about the passions we love.

You know, I think in general Alaskans are great people. I was in Anchorage to see my son come home from Iraq. We were having dinner at Benny Han h's and as the conversation around the table turned if we were tourists we explained to the couple why we were in Alaska. They finished up and left, when we asked for the check our wait or told us they had paid for our dinner and to thank our son for his service. We returned the favor to a Sargent and his wife who were in the restaurant. Great folks up there like AK

Those one on one meetings are more apt to happen than a forum wide get-together. Although I would love to meet many of the members, I saw the logistical problems that developed for the Oregon members when they tried to put something together. I did get in a great hunt and had a chance to share some time with a long-term (and now banned) forum member while on my first antelope hunt in WY. I am exploring a possible deer hunt in SW CO next year, and if that happens, then I will be sure to get a hold of CC before I go. I would even buy lunch.

Sounds good to me. This is the 3rd time I've met and got acquainted with forum members. A couple of years ago I met a young guy and his Dad from Texas and showed them several potential elk hunting areas. They did get a bull, so it went well.

We need a member with an elk/mule deer ranch to have a group hunt/gathering, ;)

Supply the ranch, we'll supply everything else...

He has a pretty big one not far from where I live, used to hunt on it with a few buddies. You won't find anything but hogs, corn vultures, deer and tree rats on it though.

Just back from my Colorado/Oregon trip. It was a real pleasure to meet with Colorado Cowboy in Ridgway Co. Roger is a fantastic guy that has lived a very interesting life so far. I could have talked all day with him. We have tons of common interests. He's the second forum member that it has been my pleasure to actually meet face to face. Guys like them make me stay on this forum. I really hope to meet many others on here as well!

Had a good trip and shot lots of chukar and pheasant but a little early and it was too warm for me to find many bucks...this was probably the best buck, in Colorado anyway.

Heading to the Madison Valley, MT in the morning. If there are any members in the Ennis area I would love to meet up. I will be there for 6 days on my semi-annual trout fishing trip. Was trying to hook up with a couple members but our schedules aren't matching up. JJeness and sneakypete are chasing the Wiley wapiti. Good luck to those two on closing the deal on a big bull. Maybe next year.
