Hunted some in the area 20 mostly in 21. Jackrabbits everywhere on roads at night. Saw a couple of the snowshoes (I think) at higher elevations and a good amount of cottontails in the sage and blue mahogany brush.

I hunted antelope S. of Ten Sleeps a few years ago. there were rabbits everywhere. I bet I saw over 100 along the road in short 4 mile drive. I had to be careful not to hit them. I was able to harvest 16 of then with my ruger 10/22. Great eating and a lot easier to hunt them than in E. WA I have a deer tag this year so the 10/22 may come with me again.

I seen a jack rabbit in Colorado one time that was as big as my dog. And my dog is pretty big....haha

I have always wanted to shoot one and get it stuffed for the coffee table in the house.

If you want to have one mounted you need to head to Arizona and find yourself a antelope jackrabbit. It is the largest jackrabbits out there. I have always wanted to cross one with a Wyoming jack-o-lope and see what I could come up with.

I've been trying to get one for my brother in law who wants to turn it into a jack-o-lope but they are few and far between in my javelina unit and I just don't get the chance to run across the road into unit 33 to find one for him.

I found one last year while I was hunting my deer down there but like most animals he had it in high gear and was not stopping.

JimP If I take one during Quial season I will freeze it,and maybe in Jan. you can make a quick stop in Phx.and pick it up on your way down south for the H.A.M. hunt/or on your way home if you don,t get one while chasing Javelina and Coues.

I couldn't even begin to count up the number of jacks that I have killed with a pistol. When I was just out of high school a buddy and I used to head out onto the west desert of Utah with a brick of 22lr's and our pistols. Usually when we came home the next day we were out of 22 rounds. We would chase rabbits all night long.
