If a company chooses to offer a lifetime warranty on a product, I as the consumer assume I am paying extra for that service. I will gladly use the warranty unless the breakage were my fault. If the product "wears out", then I have no issue taking advantage of something that I paid for during my initial purchase. How that company chooses to back up their warranty is many times out of our control, similar to what Jim mentions above. I am guessing that the number of great stories of customer service lead to additional sales- helping strengthen companies that offer the warranties like this.I know I should keep my trap closed, but reading about leupold warranty Isan,t there a point in time when a costumer should not take advantage of petty problems and think after 10 15 years of hard use it to buy new. send in hopping to get a new replacment for free would give me guilt. It would be nice to take my 2008 Ford f150 with 170k mile for renew cause it,s got dents and battle scars. Looking at EDDIE BAUER , people sending back hunting boots after years or rode hard put away wet see what happens.
