LE archery elk

You may have seen this on other forums but I figured I'd post it up here. This is my first ever bull elk and I worked my butt off for this guy. Hunted a total of 14 days and had everything go wrong on me. I about went home a bunch of times and said screw it but we stuck with it and got it done on September 11th!

It was Book Cliffs roadless. We were backpacked in 7+ miles so any bull was a trophy in my opinion. Thanks guys for the comments!

Nice!! Love the scenery, nice bull and sounds like a hell of a hunt. I have 12 points for Elk there so Im getting close to a good archery tag

That's pretty amazing for a first elk hunt. It's like hitting a home run in your first at bat in the major leagues. Good luck topping that one, and I hope you do.

What a beautiful bull and a great hunt that you had. I have no doubt that the story of this bull and your hunt will be one of if not the fondest memories of your lifetime!! The work and the trials and tribulations of the hunt only make it better. Glad to see you stuck with it. As I told my buddy a few years back, you can't shoot an elk sitting in front of the television watching football. The next day was the last day of the season. He wanted to say #$#%&@ with going out but I convinced him to go. He had his elk on the ground by 0800!!

Love the book cliffs. Great unit. I had the bittercreek archery tag in 2010 and it took me 11 days of hunting to seal the deal.

he scored right around 320"... and i actually had 3 points when i drew... someone else turned the tag back in and i was the next guy on the list so i got the tag! lucked out big time! especially since i'm a non resident to utah!
