Thanks much for the info. Didn't realize I was "asking someone for their honey hole" ... sorry about that!! I'm just trying to figure out how to get started. I appreciate your insights!!It tells how the voucher system works and about transfer/purchase & how it works at license purchase.
CO doesn't make the LO draw results public (when it comes to names) which is why the brokers/facilitators/land managers get so much business from people asking the same question you are.
Best bet is to look at the draw statistics for LOs a year in advance and see the numbers who weren't able to draw the tags they applied for; you then have about a year to track down those LOs who will draw the following year and negotiate a price based on that current year's prices (unless winterkill, drought/etc). If they will draw multiples you also can try to negotiate a slightly lower cost if you can get a group together to buy them all. I will say that asking which landowners have drawn or will likely draw is about like asking someone for their honey hole. Now have to be careful as about half the vouchers will be PLO. That's likely to cause the unit-wide vouchers to increase in price and the PLO vouchers to look cheap in comparison, but may not be worth the paper they're printed on (this, of course, will depend on the unit)
Thanks ... great tip!!!If you are looking to buy a voucher for a hunt this year as in a tag then google "Colorado private land vouchers for sale" and tags fro sale will come up.
lol, it's only asking for the honey hole if a person requests LO names. Thanks much for the info. Didn't realize I was "asking someone for their honey hole" ... sorry about that!! I'm just trying to figure out how to get started. I appreciate your insights!!
