I'm a Colorado resident. Can anyone provide any info on how Landowner Vouchers work for Mule Deer and how to get them? ... for Colorado or any Western state. Thanks.
Thanks!!! I will try to PM you if I can figure it out ...Go to gohunts.com or just do Google search for land owner tags.
The way land owner tags work in Colorado is you buy a voucher from a land owner . Then you take the voucher to any place that sells licenses in Colorado and buy your tag.
When you buy a voucher you get to hunt the private land that the voucher was issued for and you get to hunt any public land in the unit it was issued for. Unless you buy a private land only voucher.
If you want you can pm me and I can give you few people to talk to.
I know of a guy that has a unit 69/84 archery landowner voucher. I can get you his email address if you wantThanks!!! I will try to PM you if I can figure it out ...

Transferable landowner tags are one of the worst things to happen to hunting IMO. But I understand why people buy them.
Ok so this is how i understand it and please correct me and fill me in because i am not sure about this.......a voucher is a fancy word for trespass fee?......because you buy your deer voucher (for say 1000), and then you still have to buy your state deer tag for a few hundred bucks. So its normal state tag, plus voucher fee?Wow! Those tags are ridiculously priced! Glad I'm not in the market...![]()
Thanks CoHiCntry, from what I've been learning that does sounds about right.I think it varies state to state but what you described sounds about right for Colorado... You can use the tag on public land too though. Someone else might know more though. I've never bought one and never will!
Kind of..it's just a guarantee that there'll be a tag available to you. Comes with the option to hunt the land it was drawn with, not the landowner's entire amount of land holdings if it wasn't used to draw.Ok so this is how i understand it and please correct me and fill me in because i am not sure about this.......a voucher is a fancy word for trespass fee?......because you buy your deer voucher (for say 1000), and then you still have to buy your state deer tag for a few hundred bucks.
