Jacket wise the XL again is fitted, but when I asked the representative at Kuiu he told me that all the sizes are supposed to be work together for that particular system. If XL fits you in one item then you should order that size for every other item in that category (ie. shirt/jackets). For example I am getting prepared for late sept elk and went with a couple base layers and med weight jacket. I also got the down vest as a just in case. Tried everything on together and it's fitted..ie snug. It's supposed to be that way as its easier to move in and bow friendly. It goes against almost everything I learned growing up, layering the thickest stuff I could muster and still be cold. You have to trust the materials to do their job, and that's what you are paying for. Most of the items are super thin and material has some give to it, you have to get your hands on it to appreciate what I am saying. Just about every item of clothes I have is an XL except maybe some duck hunting jackets that I got a xxl for the added room for layering older clothing. IMO if you don't like the idea of athletic fit (snug) these probably aren't the best option for you.

Thanks so much for the great write up! I am definitely looking for the athletic fit. I have a bow as well and will eventually do some archery seasons as well, sounds like the perfect gear. And I assumed being its a layering system that the whole "kit" is designed to fit together, i.e. Not having to order a bigger size if you'll be layering. I really appreciate everyone's help. I have all my stuff in Vias, but the older I get the more I think camo is overrated. I will likely begin moving towards solid patterns. For one solid patterns can be used year around. Also when I hunt in areas that aren't particularly pro-hunting (ski towns for instance), I won't stand out.
The Attack pants are the only pants I hunt in now.
The Chugach Jacket is a great multipurose coat. I use in in my daily layering (cuts the wind) and it is a very good rain coat.

Completely agree, for the type of hunting I do anyway. When hunting clothing makers sell camo underwear, you know the marketing team was working OT.
I totally agree on the camo underwear, but sometimes it seems they have trouble selling them. For that reason I have some bought off Camofire at a discount that are the same material as the solid colors. I think many of us think camo underwear are ridiculous so that made them cheaper. I don't care if my underwear are camo or not as long as they do their job, don't plan to show them to people or animals!
Maybe I'm just not as good at trusting the materials yet, what you say makes sense. I still like to have a little dead air space though to be darn sure the loft in the insulating layers isn't compressed so I like to hedge my bets by sizing up. I don't bow hunt now so a little extra room isn't a bad thing. The materials do have some give to them which I love. After growing up wearing Wranglers or Carhardt pants or bibs hunting having stretch material that doesn't limit movement when stepping over deadfalls or other obstacles is awesome.

Camo is for people, animals don't care. I love that Kuiu offers solids, one of my favorite things about there products. I do not have an athletic build, therefore anything above the waist doesn't fit me right. I tried going to XXL but it was all too long, sleeves were clear down to my middle knuckle. I do love the attack pants, I have three pair and I wear them all the time, even to work.

I purchased some clothing from KUIU, I'm 5'10" and 195, I had to order the XL shirt and L pants, but had to have them hemmed b/c they are all cut to 34" on the inseam. I also got the half-zip pullover in an XL. They all fit great, but I had originally ordered just a Large in the t-shirt, and it was just too small, felt a bit like Under Armour does if you get a size too small. I didn't like that feeling, I like it a bit loose and just a hair snug, which the XL was perfect for.

I hate that all the clothing is athletic cut like we're all Cameron Hanes or something. I'm scared to order small so I just get xl on tops even though I wear L in non cotton tops usually.

Sizing - I just rack up a big bill on my initial order... Order 2 sizes of everything I buy and then just ship back what doesn't fit. Worth the extra 20 bucks for shipping.

I am 5'8" 180# and wear XL in everything. I do like my clothes a little loose so it works well. I used to hem the pants but found them to ride nice with boots on so I don't hem any more. I have Tiburon, Alpine, Attack and Guide pants all in 36 and will say the Alpine fit a little different. For Colorado the Alpine or Attacks should fit the bill for almost all your big game. I have the guide jacket but will leave behind this year for the keni/rain coat combo. I will recommend the Peleton 200(?) shirt as a second layer. Just a great piece to add warmth.
