Does anyone know much about hunting in Kansas? I haven't had much time to look at the fish and game website yet, but we will be moving there in July. Looking to bow hunt as much as possible when I'm not working. White tail or mule deer, either way as long as I'm hunting I'll be happy, but any mulies would be my first choice. We will be moving around the Wichita area and my work will take me from Garden City to Wichita.

There isn't a ton of public ground available in Kansas.. Mostly Core ground and some of the walk in hunting areas.. I don't know much about mule deer in the state, other than they are only on the Western half.. Find any creek bottom, and you'll find whitetails.

Wichita region is one of the best in the country for whitetail, but it's mostly private. Going west you'll get into both species. There's quite a bit more public out west, mostly for the bird hunters. I've seen some nice mulies out pheasant hunting. Check out the walk-in areas in the west if you want mule deer.
