Blacktail hunting is my passion I crave the smell of the alder leaves falling with the fog rolling through the high country. Mule deer are a close second mostly based on that blacktails taste so much better.

So wilderness blacktails are my #1 choice

I went with elk. Killed plenty of deer, no mulies though. Moose would probably be my No.2, with caribou coming in 4th.
matt! its time for you get hooked on big mule deer! I was hunting with an Ohio boy last year and we were watching a big mule deer, big 4x4 that was pretty, he said..."i just don't get what the fuss is about, id much rather hunt a big whitetail from a tree stand back home" I'm still working on him:)

Being from Maine I'd have to say whitetails. They are not easy but I don't have to drive 2.000 miles to my term stand. We have good Moose hunting here but it's a long wait to get your tag. I waited 15 years for mine. We can go up to Canada to hunt big stuff but it's not cheap.

Moose. They're fun to hunt and taste even better than elk. I'd cheat though and hunt whatever...it's all good.

Im a deer hunter. Thats my passion. I've taken maybe a dozen elk and 1 moose. Gonna give caribou a try in Alaska next year.

But deer hunting is what I love most. Mostly muleys here at home in Colorado. I've taken a few whitetail, and 2 coues in Arizona. The blacktails are on my list but haven't gotten there yet

I'd have to say after taking my first moose last year Moose has moved to the top of the list! Although a big elk and a monster mulie are right there though!

If I could get a Moose tag every year, affordably, in the West, I'd only hunt once a year for me and a Moose it would be. So I'm with you there SP. Whoa, back to reality.

For the table, based on reasonable tag availability, cow elk or WT every time. For the hunt, Muley's.

Since we're talking DEER, I'd say mule deer since I have hunted W.T. my entire life and like the change and excitement when I get to chase the grey ghost. :)
