That’s what I keep reading and hearing. For this my biggest question is how did it jump all the way across the state?
Pretty simple, it rode in the back of a truck after somebody killed an infected deer. They dumped the carcass and now it's in the environment in a new area. That's why so many states have such strict rules about what parts are able to be transported. That's how it got all the way to South Korea (except there it was due to the transport of live infected animals).

pity we didn't use this type of plan to control the covid pandemic. thinning the herds throughout our cities would have gone a long way towards slowing the spread!
