Nice lakers Slugz. I've caught a lot of them out of a canoe on Siskowet Lake on Isle Royale National Park. Folks who say that they don't give you much of a fight have never caught them out of a small boat using light tackle. Fine dining too.

Yeah they are a good time. We use some light steelhead rods that work really well jigging. Enough backbone for when we hook one over 30inches but light enough to have fun with the sub 30inch fish.

We have our boat program tuned in after several years of experimentation. It's a KA Boat Triton. Model 15' ( Think Alaska inflatable type)
100Ah Lithium battery with a newer trolling motor. We get a solid week out of it with no recharge.
We fished 3 men and a medium dog very comfortably in it.
