Yeah they are a good time. We use some light steelhead rods that work really well jigging. Enough backbone for when we hook one over 30inches but light enough to have fun with the sub 30inch fish.Nice lakers Slugz. I've caught a lot of them out of a canoe on Siskowet Lake on Isle Royale National Park. Folks who say that they don't give you much of a fight have never caught them out of a small boat using light tackle. Fine dining too.
Is that a Pak boat?
Especially once they see the boat for the first time. They fight plenty good when they are coming off the bottom of an 80 foot deep lake.
Yeah we dont keep any big ones. All catch and release for the Lakers. We keep one eater a year just big enough for a 4 person lunch. Thanks!!Nice fish Slugz, in beautiful country to boot. It's good to catch the bigger fish, but they are often too big to consume while camping. It's always nice to catch some "eaters" while in the outback. I'll be spending a week on a high mt. lake in Sept., but we'll be after cut-throat, so there won't be any lunkers in the boat.
Yep. Lotta brookies everywhere. ThanksGood lookin lakers!
Also if ya get tired of those pesky lakers fish the stream draining that lake.. Some of the best brookie fishin up there!
