My son in law and I are thinking about starting to get points for this type of hunt, how hard are these tags to draw? I know that some areas will be much harder then others but an average is ok. Like once every 3 years or so?

Thanks

I'd grab the 2015 deer recap off the DOW site and pick out some hunts you are interested in. You can then look up exactly how many points its been taking to draw. All the best

It depends on the unit you want. A high country hunt can be had in a lot of the Colorado units. Some of these can be done every year....some every 5 or 6 or more.

I'm looking into this pretty hard as well. Take your time and do some research and a few places will start to stand out to you. Definitely use a combination of Google Earth and the Colorado Hunting Atlas. I've also created a separate excel file that has a lot of stats combined into one file rather than several links on the websites. It just makes it easier to analyze everything. There are some places you will find that you have a good shot at drawing every year or with 1 point all the way to 6 points, so lots of different options
