Well the rep tried to get me to purchase the 12x50, go figure...haha. Guess he was doing his job.

Im leaning toward the SLCs, simply because a) they are great glass and b) they are closer to my original budget and that was the point of a budget to begin with.

I can always start another budget to purchase some higher power ones 10 years from now!

The other option is... get the 12X50 so you can glass off a tripod and sell your spotting scope (if you have one?) to make up the difference in $$$???. I've thought about doing this too. Some guys have gone that route and like it. Glassing off a tripod with binocs is a game changer IMO. I think it really comes down to personal preference, likes and dislikes. Good luck!

If you're not going to carry a spotter then the Swarovski 12x50 ELs would be your best bet. If you are going to carry a spotter and a hand held range finder then I'd say to go with the Swarovski SLC HD- they perform incredibly well especially when mounted to a tripod. If you're going to get a range finding binocular then I'd go with the Leica Geovid HD-R.
