Do you have any idea what cut it is? Like GD said less is more IMO also. Only real thing to change would be temp/time/style of cooking it depending on the cut off the animal.

if you don't like it don't let that be your final decision. sometimes the burger gets made funky. if it wasn't, start saving pennies for an elk tag!

don't put it on a pedestal or you'll be disapointed. elk is great and I enjoy eating it but it ain't beef.

oh man, idk about that. granted a fatty prime rib beef steak may be hard to beat but if I had to chose between beef or elk to eat I'm going for elk. if its handled right from the start its fantastic. a hay fed elk is even better! mmmm.

Simple seasoning is best. I like a little garlic and a little pepper- The key is to not overcook it. The inside of the burger should be pink to experience the full flavor.

Elk enchiladas last night. I'd make that burger into something you usually use burger for to start. Does it have any beef fat added? If not use some oil for browning it first. Over seasoning will mask the flavor of the meat. Enjoy!!!

I'd also eat elk over beef any day! Throw some meat on the grill and enjoy. I also like to make spaghetti and meatballs too

We so rarely eat beef, my kids think it tastes funny. I just tell them it is all that fat clogging their arteries that tastes funny.

I too rarely eat beef. My freezer is always full of wild game. But I will not complain if someone throws a good ribeye on the grill.

Deer or elk meatloaf is another really tasty option.

MissJordan nailed it with the spaghettie and meatballs suggestion. Deer or elk is just a little tougher than beef to make meatballs out of which I really like. Oh yea wy-tex nailed it too elk enchiladas! you guys are making me hungry.

Lots of elk tacos and burritos in my house. Had some tasty burgers over the weekend. Tenderized round steak cut into strips makes some pretty tasty chicken fried elk fingers with gravy!
