Does anyone know of a headlamp that uses AA batteries? I'm tired of having to pack both AA for the GPS and AAA for the headlamp, I always seem to forget one or the other.

Thanks

Another vote for Blackdiamond. I have had one for myself and another for my gf for several years. Never an issue, great light and battery life.

Streamlight Sidewinder Compact II, uses AAs or CR123s, but the AAs don't last as long.

Maybe get into the rechargeable battery field. I have a Nitecore HC90 and it has a rechargeable 18650 and can be charged usb by anything. (solar panel, battery bank). I think it is rated at 900 lumens as well. Super bright! It will last a pretty good amount of time depending on brightness you like. Just thought I would throw that out there!

I have two zebra lights one red one white. Both on the same head band. They are super light and three settings each from dim to very very bright. They are great on batteries too.

We have three Zebra lights. Love em. We also use model H52w. The optional glow in the dark silicone holder is pretty handy when dealing with it in the dark.

just use Lithium Batteries, they last alot longer, and are a lot lighter in weight too.

I actually had some Energizer lithiums not perform well at all in the cold (20s at night, 50-60s during the day) I get 2 - 3 days out of alkalines running it off and on all day, even in the cold, I got about a day out of the lithiums under the same conditions.

May have just been the brand, just wanted to mention it.

That surprises me, I only get to Elk hunt about 2 weeks a year, and am usually on the mountain at-least a hour or more before daylight, and one set last me the whole time, in about the same temps as you . in fact they are still so bright, I don't think that I will put a new set in for my trip this year, but I will have a extra set with me.
