I have a little different take on all this hoopla. I am a former college football player and a 50% disabled veteran, so I think all this crapolla that is surfacing now is just that....BS.

The original person who started this (the San Francisco QB) a couple of years ago (prior to Trump even being in office) had a beef with how cops were treating blacks. IMHO there are a whole lot of better ways to help the situation than how he chose to do it. It has totally gotten out of hand with this weekends antics. There is no right or wrong, just mistakes that cannot be taken back.

Myself, I'll choose to not watch professional football and not purchase from it's advertisers. Will that help, probably not, but it will help me justify my feelings. A lot of professional athletes (not all of them) are pretty spoiled and don't care a lot what fans think. No proof, just my gut feel. I played college football at a major university and got to see first hand some of this attitude.

This whole situation has gotten completely out of hand.

Well said they need to choose a different platform.

Trump is not the only one allowed free speech.

No offense, but this is not a first amendment or free speech issue. You can check your Constitution, but there is nothing that says a private business has to allow it's employees to act like idiots or intionally cost the company money. If the NFL had any nuts at all, they would at least fine them like they do for excessive celebration. I mean aren't they worried about their "free speech right" to make rude gestures after a touchdown or a big hit? Those cowards in Pittsburgh tucked their tails and took up their places behind the only real man on the team. Hats off to Villanueva, that guy makes a habit out of being a hero! If you don't believe that this is not a free speech issue, go to work tomorrow call up a bunch of your company's customers, and tell them that they are a bunch of racist, white privileged, scum bags and you have no respect for them, their families, or the country they love, and see what happens. You won't get thrown in jail, but there will be consequences ...gauranteed!

There's no fix for why Kap originally protested. That gets into economics, human geography & statistics, regardless of race. Teams unifying to create social divisiveness, for whatever reason now, is just a trendy symbolic, gesture of spreading stupidity. I can't call it ignorance bc most of these players had the opportunity to become educated.

Actually, no employee has a right to free speech or freedom of expression at work, just try telling your boss that you'd like to shoot him in the face and see if you keep your job (or out of jail for that matter). Constitutional rights are restrictions to what the federal government can do to the people, the right to free speech only applies when the government is trying to restrict it.

Not sure what it will be this week but my final is

Alabama
Auburn
Miami or Clemson
Oklahoma

I think Ohio State ruins Wisconsin's bid for the playoff and Auburn gets in and the nation screams SEC bias lol.

Just got back from hunting and saw USC beat UCLA. They are thru now, except for the PAC 12 Championship game. 10-2 now, don't have any idea what bowl game they will be in.

Congrats Swampokie. You are definitely in. GA will be in as SEC champs. Clemson/Miami winner. Wisconsin/Ohio State or Bama. I hope Ohio St wins by 1 lol.

Love college football, growing up in Nebraska. Man, has TV changed things.

And actually liked espn there for a while (w/Dan Patrick and Keith Olberman). Now espn makes me sick.

Not 2 minutes after Ohio State wins the B1G title game, sportscenter has Nick Saban on the phone, lobbing for a playoff spot. Can't tell me their aren't biased towards the sec. Love that the B1G moved part of their television contract to Fox.

I do think Bama is one of the best teams in the country...but they didn't even win their division. And the division winner (Auburn), lost in the sec title game. (And for the record, I do not believe 2001 Nebraska deserved to play for the title vs. Miami.)

I believe final rankings will look like this:
1. Clemson
2. Oklahoma
3. Georgia
4. Ohio State

All employees have a right to free speech or freedom of expression at work, you just have to be willing to deal with the consequences.
