I have a Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter right now, and was looking to maybe upgrade to the Smack Down. I was woundering if anyone out there has upgraded to the Smack Down, and how they like it (good or bad). Is it quieter, more or less cumbersome, ect, ect?

Hey Firearrow:
I have the shakey hunter now and I like it. I have found that the arrow restraint bar that goes over the top has been a little low for fletching clearance. The bigger housing on the smack down is nice but I still prefer the full capture rest style.

Ya was thinking that my self, but I was really woundering how well the new "rest release thingy" works compared to the older shakey hunter. I looks like they are reversed?

+1 on the Code Red, I love how you can lock it in the upright position. I have friends that have other drop aways and with the cycle of their bow when they draw it will pop the arrow off the rest when they hit the valley.

last year I bought a Hoyt maxxis and put the new smack down on, went to paper tune it and sent a Huge tear of about an inch straight up! the bowshop and I tinkered with it for awhile and couldn't get it to adjust correctly, turned out the rest over centered and right at reliece would send the arrow up. After taking care of that problem we noticed the rest attaches to the string instead of the cable and the smackdown uses the string to "hold" it down unlike the shakey hunter which uses the cable to pull it up, thus causing the cams to become out of tune. In the end we put the shakey hunter back on and it shoots nice now. Unless you own a Mathews Monster or another super fast bow I would stay away from the smack down as it was made for that fast of a bow and most bows don't need a rest that fast.

Had a Trophy Taker pronghorn on my old bow, worked great. Just put a Xtreme Full Capture on my new bow, a couple hundred shots thru it this week and no problems, working out great. I got the top load and have had no problems loading my arrows.
