I can spot a pre 64 model 70 about 10 miles away! lol Same gun and scope I hunt with other then mine is a 270 and I put a synthetic stock on it
This one is in mint condition and was passed down from my Dad like most everything else, shoots under MOA, and I won't touch it as far as any changes! I did have the trigger worked on when I got it and had it brought down to 2 1/2 pounds and that's all it has ever had done to it.

Most of why I put the synthetic on mine was so I wouldnt beat the origional wood stalk up which is in very nice shape and I still have it. Someone drilled 3 holes for a detachable scope mount in it and I got it for about 1/2 what it would be worth without those 3 holes. Mine is very accurate too!

Nobody said anything different and we're just guessing, but it's obvious a lot of people haven't seen a true 175" buck. This buck is my best and went 155" with 5 1/4" bases and great fronts. That's why I made the 150" guess on the OP picture, which is definitely a nice buck too.
Nice buck! In my opinion he would have been a shooter opening morning on every hunt I have been on.... I do think the OPs buck will score a bit better with the deeper back forks but not much. Again I could be way off as I only have one mounted mule deer for comparison. I'll post him as a follow up to this thread on another guess the score....

That is why pics are deceiving (As I well-learned in the elk thread), TG. I did a little quick and dirty layering in PS:

I am NOT saying this is accurate, BTW. Just pointing out it is hard to tell!

BTW, some of us that guessed higher may well know what a 175 buck looks like, and still be wrong with our guess.

I like him, he's got character! But Im going to be the low guy again and give him 135.
?? Either i am super out of touch or you are just low balling for fun.... I may need to review my scoring techniques MM. 135?? I want you as a guide this fall. If you tell me he is a shooter I won't hesistate!!

LOL I would always rather be low then high and from the pic I cant honestly say I think he scores more then that. Thats my guess and Im sticking to it no matter how wrong it is! lol

He's a shooter, that's all I think about at crunch time. I'll go with the high guess 175 When you grow up hunting Blacktails in the brush all those muleys look big:)

I can respect that.... for sure.

I have a whitetail in a plack mount that beats 135 that looks much smaller than this mount. If that buck is less than 150, I would be astonished. My whitetail scores 141....

The one we are posting guesses for will score considerably higher than this buck.
