Curious as to what you guys think on this one. Muzzleloader buck last year. I knew he was decent, but the length of the down curl surprised me. image.jpgimage.jpg

69" Honestly I have no clue. Some antelope don't score well but look huge to me. While others score big but just don't look that much bigger. It looks good to me! Congrats on a good one.

The pictures just really aren't good enough to give a close guess, so I'll just say in low 70s from what I can see. He may be better than that if there were better pictures to look at.

Its a pretty one. I have no idea how to score antelope, or any animal except maybe bunnies. I really like the long curls, so I would go along with the 9 out of 10.

72 good curl bad pictures tho.
Antelope are very deceiving to judge and add to that the fact the pictures are very deceiving also. That buck has decent mass and a very good hook. Mass has a tendency to hide cutter. I'd say that buck could go 75" or so easy. The hook is easy to miss if a guy is looking for height alone and cutter length is also easy to miss if the buck has better than average mass. But, pictures are hard to judge by, especially when the hunter is not in them! I'd say you killed a nice buck, even nicer to take with a muzz.

Yeah, pictures are not very good. I tried to do a selfie, but my arms weren't long enough. I was by myself, it was just a "run out quick on opening day and see what I can see" deal. He measured about 15 on one side and 14 3/4 on the other. Cutters only about 4 1/2, and about 6 1/4 on the bases. Pretty good mass up on top. I really thought he was about 13 at first and even when I first put the tape on it really surprised me as it went around the curl. I will get it checked out when he comes back, I have never mounted anything before. It would be kind of cool if he was more than 75 so he made the Idaho book.

With the measurements you mentioned he may break 70" and is probably about what I guessed. To be in the mid 70s or better he needs better than 7" bases, cutters above 6", and a second circumference of 6" or better. The lengths on him are good, but mass is where an antelope scores well and from what you're saying he lacks the mass to be much over 70". He's a nice goat and should make a beautiful mount.

I guess I need to pay attention to the second page of the posts, as I didn't realize you had already given the score. My bad.

No, no official or even unofficial yet. When I get him back I might have somebody do it. I just measured length and the bases, and estimated the prong. I think your 74 might be pretty close.

Pic's must be deceiving, because he looks bigger then 15" I will go out on a limb and say 77 just so he makes it with ease. Pretty Buck no matter what!!!! One of the best looking animals to have on the wall no matter what!!!!
