I was fortunate enough to take this 171 7/8" gross Indiana Giant with my Hoyt on November 7, 2014! I watched this buck on trail camera all summer and seen him a few times in velvet, but he was mainly running a farm that I did not hunt. On November 3rd I checked my trail cameras and realized that he had moved into my area about a mile away from where he was in the summer with a hot doe. I hunted the afternoon/evening of November 4th and seen him cross the field at 125 yards at 2:00 in the afternoon. Bad winds kept me out of the area on November 5th and 6th. On November 7th I hunted another area in the morning and the wind finally changed for me to go back after the buck I called "Superman". While walking in with my climber stand I pulled two trail camera cards that I had on scrapes. Once I got settled into my stand at about 2:20pm I checked the SD cards and he had been there at 3:30am. At 3:54pm he emerged from the deep ditch directly in front of me. At 30 yards I was presented with the opportunity of a lifetime and was able to make it happen! The buck made it a mere 30 yards and crashed into a treetop within sight. The deer that I have hunted for for a lifetime was on the ground!
