Grizz Killed in WY

I haven't read the whole story but a game warden shoots and kills a Charging Grizz in Wyoming. I have No issue whatsoever with this. My question, with Game and Fish pushing the use of bear spray over the use of a side arm I find it interesting that it was shot and not sprayed. Like I said I didn't read story so maybe it was sprayed and didn't work?

Bear spray works at about what, 30 feet? Lead will be flying long before then.

Two years ago when I was packing my elk out, I ran into the warden. He chewed my azz cuz I didn?t have any kind of a weapon with me. Gravelly range, sw Montana

I seen griz tracks in elk unit 83 wy that were bigger than my size 11 boots,,glad I didn't see the bear
