2 1/2 weeks out from surgery and it's progressing better than the left one did. I think because I am right handed, I do more with it than I did with the left one. Pt is going well also. Lots of range of motion and not much pain. ROM seems to come back fairly quick, but strength is a lot slower. The wonder is that I have no pain in the shoulders during most activities.

Just received my contract for a guided, horseback m/l elk hunt here in Colorado for 2018. I've done between 25 & 30 (can't remember exactly how many) of these hunts for deer and elk. I'll be almost 77 when I go, really looking forward to it. Also going on an elk hunt this year with one of our guys here on the forum, should be a blast too.

Life is good...especially for an old goat like me!!!LOL

I hear you Cowboy. I just went in last week because of extreme weakness in my right arm. I figured right away it was a shoulder issue...think replacement. After many X-rays and a MRI the surgeon determined it's in my neck/ disc/spinal cord issues. I go for a Cat? scan Tuesday and I have surgery scheduled for Wednesday/Thursday depending on the argument we're having with our insurance co.

The joys of getting older and having your parts either wear out or break off.

I have been putting off taking care of a bone spurs in my feet, this year might be my year to get them taken care of.

Had the same problem with my ankle. I just struggled with it and finally it got so bad I could hardly walk. Had a cleanup surgery and the DR, said too bad to do much with. My only choice was a total joint replacement or fusing the ankle. Opted for the replacement. after 6 months of healing and pt, it is better than new. I struggled with it for 5 or 6 years, just living with it instead of getting it fixed. Those years were a struggle while I was hunting. I basically lost those years, should have got it fixed asap. Can't add those years on the end, that's for sure!

Well guys I am 5 weeks into recovery on the second shoulder and the progress is amazing. Pain pretty much gone, about 95% of range of motion and getting stronger. The really great thing is no more arthritic pain in either joint, can sleep at night now:cool: PT thru the end of this month then I'm done.

No more PT and totally released by my Ortho Surgeon. I can do pretty much anything I want to do, but will have to live with weight limitations on lifting anything....40to 50# is it. Still regaining strength, but no pain in joints and have regained full range of motion.

Biggest thing has been getting off RX pain medications. I have been taking them for 6 or 7 years and they can be pretty addictive. Hydrocodone was prescribed and it has taken several months to get totally off this med. Lots of side effects, but gone now. Even tho they help with pain control, they have lots of side effect that have to be dealt with when you stop taking it, especially after a long period of time. Time to plan for this falls elk hunt!!!

C.C., I think you'll be about ready to climb Mt. Denali once you get up here! I'm anxious to team up with you again!
