Hey guys,

Last year I used Gold Tip Kinetic XT's and really liked them, slim, tough, heavy, and flew consistently. However, for whatever reason, they discontinued them for 2015 and only offer the Kinetics and Kinetics Kaos, basically the loosest or tightest tolerances, no in-between. The Kaos are outta the mix at $195/dozen, but the tolerances on the Kinetics are .006 straightness and 2.0 gr weight. What do you guys think about these tolerances, is it really that big of a deal? I was also looking at Easton Axis with .003 tolerances and similar specs, but not sure if the average bowhunter really notices the difference? Any thoughts?

At shorter ranges under 40 yards I don't think you will see much difference unless you're shooting competitively. Past 40 yards you may start to notice differences. I used to shoot PSE arrows. They had two models at the time in their radial x-weave. I did have trouble grouping at long distance with the cheap, low tolerance arrows. I switched to their pro line and it did make a difference. I currently shoot the axis and love them.

I got some of each Kaos and plain Kinetics in 340 spine. Both shoot the same with field points out to 70 yds. I haven't shot them much with broadheads but so far they look to shoot the same for me. I use a VPA 3 blade 125gr head. I'm going to use the Kaos to hunt since I have them and the others to practice with. If you shop around on the net you can get them much cheaper than $195/doz but they are still expensive.
