Haha! Defense and Cal shouldn't be used in the same sentence. I thought Texas was back?
Back to the Herman sweepstakes is about all. Spavital went from a notecard system to 1 laminated sheet so he could see all of his plays instead of just the bubble screen (one using the TE was stuck to that one and went unnoticed for 2yrs) and it was just too much for the horns to overcome. Plus I swear the media would have ND sitting #1 to start the year if they wouldn't get called out on it.

With that said, AZ St v. Cal should set some combined scoring records.

Agreed. A&M owns Auburn in their house. That's one of the toughest places to play in the SEC besides Death Valley and Neyland Stadium. You guys look good this year, it will be a good one when we play. We are super thin at DB. Had 2 go out in the 3rd and 4th quarter and we looked awful in the secondary. Same Achilles heel as the last 3 years: problems defending tall, physical receivers.

Watching the D try to carry the team last year was different, just glad they've gotten better and the offense is pitching in. The DL is legit and deep. Despite the outcome, Bama was my favorite game last year just bc our D was amped up for it and the safeties were playing angry.

I was out ATV-ing with the wife on Saturday...picked a hell of a day to miss College Football. I did get to see the 4th Q of Oregon v. Nebraska (I'm a Nebraska Alum & former season ticket holder).

Looking back, who would have thought the following to be true after week #3:

- Notre Dame, Ol Miss, and Oklahoma would be 1-2, and essentially eliminated from the Playoffs
- Fl. State would get BOAT RACED, and give up 60 points to Louisville
- Iowa gets beat at home by FCS North Dakota State
- Nebraska would beat Oregon...
- The B1G would go 4-0 in the their marque non-conference games (Wisc v LSU, MSU v ND, OSU v OU, NEB v Oregon)

I absolutely LOVE college football!

Ohio State and Louisville looking very good this year.
Alabama is showing signs of weakness that could cost them to the right team...

I've not seen Louisville yet, but Ohio St. looked amazing on Saturday night. They are the team to beat in the B1G.
