Gaiters

Taking my wife on her first elk hunt in a few weeks. We have been back and forth on boots and have finally settled on a lower top hiking boot style of boot. I am doing all I can to ensure she is comfortable so I'm thinking a pair of gaiters would be a good idea in the event we get snow or wet weather. Does anyone have recommendations for a brand and style that would work for a woman? She wears a size 7 boot and is only 5' 3" so I'm worried that most will be too big? Thanks in advance for any help.

I also should throw in that it might be worth contacting KUIU, they may have the sizing option and could work you through it on their gaiters.

Thanks Scott. My concern with OR gaiters is they "look" like they would be noisy every time she touched anything with them. They do look like they have many options that would fit though.

I have a buddy that loves his kenetrek gaiters. Not sure if they have lady sizes.

I just got a pair of core4 gaiters, they are a size small/medium I have small calves (ok go ahead and start the jokes) they may cinch down enough to fit a female. They worked great at keeping out the water from vegetation and stickers did not attach to them as easily as my buddies kenetrek gaiters did.

I bought a pair of Kuiu gaiters fro this season. I have only used them on one hunt so far and I didn't need them much but from what I have seen of them so far I like them. Not sure on ladies sizes but they seem to be made well.

Hey Hilltop
I would like to suggest Black Crystal Brand. You can find your wifes favorite gaiters here http://www.blackcrystalonline.com

Long range forecast is showing dry and 60+ degrees... good news for my wife's comfort but bad news for elk activity. Looks like she won't need the gaiters after all...

If your luck is like mine; don't bring the gaiters and it will snow 2 feet.

The ORs are the way to go. No problem with the noise while wearing them. Now when you remove them to take off your boots the Velcro strip in the front is noisy.
