I need to buy some gaiters. Holy cow web searches show a lot of people make them!
I am looking for:
1- quiet
2- waterproof
3- durable
4- and quality design and materials

Who gets you hard earned $$

Outdoor research crocodiles are tried and true. I've had a pair for over 10 years. Can't go wrong with them. That being said I now have the First lite brambler gaiters and I really like the material and warmth they provide as well

I have the Sitka gaiters! I love them. I wear them all the time in the woods regardless of conditions. Have held up great and really performed great for me!

I've never owned gaiters until this past fall. Did some research, and opted for a pair of Kuiu's.

I like them very much. Can't compare them to other brands, but they did the job for me.

I've had a pair of Cabelas gaiters with the Goretex liners for about 10 years now and they are great. My brother got a pair of Kennetek gaiters last year and the also worked great. One thing I noticed is that they were not as quiet when walking through brush.
Did the high end gaiters work better? I think they were pretty much the same for a big difference in price.

I run Kennetrek. I have 19.5" calves and some of the other brands are to tight for me. Rokslide had a thread on this and the guys with bigger calves mostly liked Kennetrek.

Caution on the Kenetrek, the strap isn't sewed to the gait or very well. I had mine fail badly in BC. I went to KUIU and I'm very impressed with them. They fit better and are taller!

I have the first lite gators. I have the largest size the make, and can't get them over a winter boot, with thinner wool pants. There fine over a uninsulated boot, with light pants. They are great, other than the size on the bigger boots.

I have used a variety of OR gaiters for hunting, hiking, backcountry skiing, and snowshoeing. They work well. I used a pair of KUIU this past winter hunting and they seemed quieter. I am not sure if that is because of the material or if it is because they are more form-fitting than the ORs. Since the KUIUs are new to me, I don’t know how long they will last. The ORs have held up well for years.

Have owned the same pair of OR gaiters for the past ten years and they have held up great. I highly recommend them.
