Who gets them?

I never have but want my wife and daughter to just for peace of mind.

This strain seems to be very bad although from what I?ve seen the folks that have died have had other issues like pneumonia that caused their deaths.

Was in to see my new Dr a month ago and he asked if I had had one yet. I said no, in fact have never had one in my life. I also havn't had the flu in at least 40 years. I also don't catch colds, last one was at least 10 years ago.

In my job before I retired I was around a lot of people and in their homes. I always got the shot. Since I retired I still get them and never came down with the flu, that is until this year. I picked it up down in Arizona and while it has been a mild variation of it it still has put me down.

I'm trying to get over it before I head back down to Arizona for my javelina hunt next week.

to each their own.

Vitamin D has been proven to better protect you against the flu than the flu shot. 2-10k IU daily. get your vitamin D tested and aim for 60-80 score IMO.

good luck.

I have gotten the shot twice in my life and still got the flu both of those years. I was told I got a different strain than what the shot was. I haven't gotten the shot since and have only had the flu once in the last 20 years. I do stay on top of my vitamin intake and eat a lot of fruit and vegetables. I have noticed I rarely get sick when I'm treating my body good.

I will say one thing, I did get the shot and I did get the flu.

After how I felt with it I would of hated to of had it without the shot. It didn't put me down completely but it did slow me down a lot. Exercise was defiantly out of the question and that may hurt me on my hunt in Arizona coming up. But from what I have seen with what the flu is doing to people this year I am glad that I got the shot.

Flu shots are usually for the last years strain of flu that went around. Supposedly current flu shots are only about 10% effective against this years flu strain. Yet we are being told to get the shot anyway. Of course the pharmaceutical companies are pushing them because they make so much money. If your insurance company pays for the shot or you pay for it, the pharmaceutical co. still get paid.
My wife and I have never gotten flu shots and have never gotten the flu.

I work in health care and I always get a flu shot. I work in very close proximity to patients and I have no clue who they have been in close proximity to. I won't touch anybody without gloves and a mask on (and I do that year round). I've been coughed on, sneezed on, and probably spit on a few times, but I can't remember the last time I had the flu.

avoiding contact with nasty humans is the best way to stay healthy.
I have never gotten a flu shot and it has been at least ten years since I have had the flu and even when I did have it it weren't no thang.

I get the shot every year. However, I came down with the Flu this year. First time in a long time that I've had it. My wife is a ARNP, so we all get one every year!
