fletching glue

Disappointed in my fleching glue, in losing too many off my arrows was using bohning fletch tite, then I whiched to bohning insert iron I'm still having to many fleching coming off, any ideas of a glue that works, and yes I clean my shafts with denatured alcohol and use wraps.

We use blu glue for inserts in our shop and it works really well.

For fletch in give always used fletch tite. I clean the shaft with denatured alcohol or acetone, then clean the base of the vane with same. Run a light strip of glue on vane, then use a Bitzenberger jig. I apply a drop of glue front and back when done.

I've never used wraps.

I use the bohning platinum fletch glue and insert iron for my inserts. I clean my shafts like rock chucker but I don't clean my fletchings. I also make sure to put a dot of glue on the front and back when finished. I've never had any problems with them coming off, but I also use arrow wraps

Give Blazer Bond a try. Its a quick set glue by Bohning.
The Insert Iron isn't intended for fletchings.

Carbon copy of what I do still think I have too many coming lose I have three per dozen after three to four target practices

The only thing that I can tell i's different from every one else is fleching tool I use an az.easy flech maybe it is loosening the fleching when I take them out.and to all that mentioned it ,I know that the other glue was for inserts only but I thought I'd try it out .hoping it would be stronger

I'm not familiar with the easy fletch, but make sure the whole fletching is pressed onto the arrow evenly and snugly. I have put some on that when I inspect them see that they are not fully seated on the arrow. These come off easily. Also, are you putting enough glue on them and starting with a clean shaft/wrap? Good contact means good stick with most glues. Those are a lot of fletchings that are falling off

I been using Saunders npv glue while I was working in a shop and on all my own arrows. Maybe a a couple dozens of dozens haha love the stuff never found a reason to switch

Try different wraps.

I had two different brands of wraps as my son was shooting the same arrows. I used a different brand and color for his and used bohing for mine with the same glue and fetching tool. His vanes where falling off like crazy and not one of mine came off. Changed his wraps over to the same brand and haven't had any problems since.

Wrote down different names of glue, gonna buy and try, Don k never thought it could be my wraps thanks after I try the other glues if that doesn't change anything I'll swap my wraps, when I make my arrows I'm very meticulous, cleaning prep, cutting both ends, squaring off both ends, making sure my foc, is where it should be, buying what is suppose to be quality products, so that's why I need new ideas. thanks all and I'll try all the new ideas.

I use the standard SUPER GLUE GEL Its cheap and easy to find. Never a problem with the Bitzenburger to fletch the arrows.

I have had the best luck with Gold Tip glue. used it on inserts and fletching.

I also use a easy fletch and use the same method you are using. The glue I am using right now is carbon express (express bond) and it seems to be holding up real nice. The one thing I noticed and I'm sure you have too is that when you use the easy fletch, when you press the fletchings on there is a slight amount of glue that comes out the sides. When you pull the easy fletch apart it pulls on the dried glue ( some of it gets on those plastic parts ) so it tends to pull the vane off slightly with it. The only thing I do is wipe the easy fletch tool off with alcohol after each arrow so the plastic is clean and fresh. Good luck!

Ive tried alot of "Fletching" glues.....Got tired of always having to have "fletching" glue....I tried this glue a few year ago and it has worked awesome thus far!
