Fishing Charter?

The wife and I are going to take a week, and explore the Pacific NW.. We will most likely fly into Vancouver or Seattle, and then make our way down to Portland before flying home from there. I would like to spend a half day, and catch some fish. We will be there June 28th-July 3rd, so it looks like Salmon and Rockfish are probably going to be my only real options..

I've looked at a few charters on line, based out of Seattle, but does anyone have any recommendations? I'm not committed to fishing out of Seattle, and would consider options in Vancouver or Portland as well, if the fishing is better, or I had better options.

Catching some kings would be really fun, as would halibut. We'd be doing this both for the experience, and to ship ourselves home a bunch of fish.

Thoughts, recommendations or advise is appreciated!

I am sure there is some fishing going at that time in the Seattle area, but I am not familiar with it. As far as Portland, where I am at, there are a number of good fisheries close by.

I can recommend Reyhan Higgins of Triple C Outfitters. He fishes the lower Columbia and makes some Ocean trips too I think. 503-791-2324 is his cell and 503-325-9349 is a land line I think. He is a top guide for the Columbia river, Astoria (at the mouth) to Bonneville dam (40 ish mi east of Portland) and fishes a few other places too. If he does not offer what you seek he can probably
recommend other good guides in the Portland area, if that is where you choose to fish. It is peak season for Spring Salmon now, so it may take a few days for Reyhan to return your call. Triple C Outfitters is on Facebook, you can message him there too.

Fink;
Based on your travel plans, I'd get over to to the Coast at Westport or Astoria/Ilwaco.
I agree that the Dory Fleet fishing is pretty cool as well. That is more continent on weather but if you can get out it is pretty cool.

Check out the boats out of Westport, WA. I fished the Ms. Magoo for sea bass, cod and halibut. Limited out on bass and then some according to the captain. The crabbers were bringing in live Dungeness crab for sale...

I'm not very familiar with the Northern Oregon coast, but if you google Columbia River guides, or Buoy 10 guided fishing you'll get plenty of info. With today's technology, it's very easy to look up a guide and also check reviews of their services with websites like Yelp, TripAdvisor, etc...... In my experience, the first thing I do is check references. Call previous clients. They may save you from a terrible trip or help you with the best fishing ever. It's worth the time. Now, if you want to come further south, I can hook you up(pun intended) with some great guides that produce great fishing!!!! Good luck and safe travels!

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I think I'm going to try to go out of Westport, there's a few guides that run out of there, just need to decide on who.
