Hi there! Nice thread here! Can you guys please recommend some nice fishing rods and reels for a beginner? I would appreciate any input on it. Have you tried some of those from Tsunami like the reels from https://www.jandh.com/catalog/rods/manufacturer/tsunami I would like to get some opinions and recommendations on them. Thank you in advance!

Depends on what kind of fishing you'll be doing. Freshwater, salt water, flyfishing, bass fishing, crappie fishing, trolling, big fish, little fish,....

panfish ...most any ultralite rod and reel will do.

A good medium light rod will do for most trout fishing.

if you are deep sea fishing for the big fishies,I can't help you much.I mostly avoid de ocean ,der be monsters out der.

what sort of fishing do you plan on doing? if you have specific questions, on certain species,I have no doubt there are many here who could answer them.

but there are so many species and different fishing techniques. that we really need more information before we can recommend any particular gear.

if you just wish to go to nearest lake and catch any ol fish, just go to walmart ,pick a medium weight rod nreal combo. put HOOK AND WEIGHT ON IT,BAIT IT WITH A WORM , TOSS IT OUT THERE AND WAIT.

Headed up to the high country for some fishing and glassing. Hope to have some great colorful trout pics for everyone next week!

Haven't been much this year. Lost a motor and had to scramble to repower. While I was at it did a makeover on the boat as well. Was able to do some cobia fushung after the repower and on a friends boat.

My boat has been in the shop getting new controls up top so went out with a friend on his boat. Hooked up and released the first Blue Marlin of the billfish season here in NC. was a pretty bait and switch bite. He was hot on the teaser!! Was a jumper as he gray hounded behind the boat for about 30 minutes. Same day lost a White Marlin after a bait and switch. My boat is now ready to roll for the season.

Took my 10 year old to Montana and Yellowstone two weeks ago. We had an awesome trip. Floated the Madison 2 days and did some sightseeing in the park 2 days. Saw 3 grizzly bears and 9 wolves.

More Hebgen Lake rainbows. One of the best guides in Montana, Matt Morrell. I sold him my old boat when I left and he's still at it 20 years later. Anyone looking for a guide that's phenomenal with kids this is your guy. Undaunted Anglers is his guide service. It was good catching up with him. He's also an elk hunter!

My boy had a blast! He'll never forget this trip.
