I think all regulations refer to brookies as brook trout though. even a lake trout is a char, bull trout belong to char family aswell. and rainbow trout are a salmon. aint there none brook trout down yonder in Georgia? we can limit out with 25 brooks a day here. they sure are a pretty fish. is there not a section in cali regs that has different limits for brook trout and rainbows or cuts or browns, outside of the "bonus"? who wants to keep a 10" fish anyway, that's an odd rule,

I reread the regulations and it is more simplified this fishing year. Brook trout are a char but they are lumped in with the trout/salmon definition.

There are a few areas that have different regs, but everywhere south of interstate 80 the daily trout salmon limit is 5per day and ten in possession the bonus Brook trout limit is 10 fish under 10 inches. Since the Brook trout is part of the daily bag limit you can keep 15 per day.

Ivorytip I thought California had lots of brookies. 25 per day that's amazing. They are really pretty!

Oh yea they're delicious! My lady and I dipped them in cornmeal and deep fried them whole. Those small brookies you can eat bones and all

Matt, DAMM I missed out on that one. My daughters college played Georgia in the NIT and we sat right behind the Georgia bench. Did I mention we beat them...... It's ok Matt, we know you still have your Dale Murphy card....

One of my friends son was starting point guard for GA. Charles Mann, he had 13 points that game. St Marys shot 50%. can't allow teams to shoot 50% and expect to win. UGA basketball team hasn't been good for awhile unfortunately. Since Jim Harrick.
What you doing going to watch a UGA basketball game? Youre supposed to be in MT or B.C.

hey fellas, fishing! haha. i had a big rainbow on tonight, hook slipped before I could land him!! big thunder storm rolled in and cooled things down a lot so I waded across side channel of river to hit main stretch. drifting a big nasty streamer across bottom and SLAM! I set hook and reared back and that baby jumped straight up out of water and fight was on, after several awesome runs he charged my way and line never went tight again:( such a rush though.

Sorry you know me and Pete always get off subject. Hate you lost a toad. Wish I was on the banks of the Madison right now minus the crowds, the salmon flies are in full swing and moving up stream. Grip it and rip it! Tight lines Ivory. Get back at it, and send this envious GA boy some pictures...of BIG TROUT! Good luck enjoy your 4th of July.
