The little guy got his first fish this weekend!

Nothing like catching your first fish! I remember when my son caught his first fish, his smile was ear to ear. He is 52 now and we still get to fish and hunt together.

Got my replica cow dolphin on Friday and just got finished hanging it up. I am happy with the addition. Now I just need to get the antelope up on the left side of the wall!

went to magic reservior idaho yesterday. didn't have a great day but caught a couple decent trout and serveral lil dudes. was trolling with coundown Rapalas , brook trout.

Who else is confused about California's Brook trout regs?

Daily trout limit 5

Daily bonus Brook trout 10 fish under 10 inches

Does that mean you could keep 5 brookies over 10" and 10 under 10" for a total of 15 Brook trout a day? Or 15 brookies regardless of length?

Obviously there is the daily limit of 5 trout and salmon in combination. I just have some areas that have so much Brook trout and are stunted. That's why California has this bonus limit of undersized brookies.

Is anybody else as confused as I am? I have a cdfw buddy who was a regional trout biologist and he is confused with the Brook trout regulations as well.

Don't know for sure but a brook trout is a char and a trout is a trout. So if it were me I would keep 5 rainbow trout(or brown trout or combination thereof) and 10 brook trout under 10 inches for a total for two different species of 15. Not saying I'm right but if stopped and had this combination no way can they write a ticket if that's how it reads.
