I'm off to a good start for first year in oregon. Got my first Blacktail, didn't let any elk arrows fly but certainly had my fill of almost. Murphy's law was defiantly riding on my shoulder this year HaHa. I like that I can dull the pain of elk season with some salmon fishing. No replacement for a good elk steak but it's a nice addition to the table fare. Looking forward to another year exploring Oregon table fare.:)IMG_0178.jpgIMG_0182.jpg

Maineboy…Season has been closed for months!!! ;)

Congrats on your blacktail, bigger than my first half dozen blacktails! Great job!

P.S. One of my pet peeves is that a hunting forum should not auto correct the word blacktail to blackmail.

Congrats on your blacktail! I got a whole pile of blacktails alot smaller then that growing up in Ca. Any 3 pointer (even a 3x2) was a monster in those days!

UH I had to try the spell check after you said that. Mine also also suggests. black tail (understandable) black-tail (understandable) and last but not least tailback (what the heck?) LOL

Nice job on your blacktail, growing up here in Dee, I definetly tagged(happily) a bunch of bucks smaller than yours. I remember my very first buck, a small forky like it was yesterday. Great bow buck, probably the first of many!
