All,
Had a great trip with forum member Dan aka finesandtines out ut of Tampa. Finally met with a great forum member Colorado Cowboy. I drove out and met Roger(Colorado Cowboy) at his house. He's a great guy and enjoyed telling stories.
Went to unit 74 first and didn't hear any bugling. After a day and a half we headed to unit 71, only after we overcame a dead battery 10 miles up a dirt road. We got lucky someone came along and helped us jump the truck. Once we got to 71 we got into bugling bulls. On Tuesday I was fortunate to finally shoot a lead cow. She had a spike bull trailing and no big boy. So decided to take her at 28 yds. She ran 75 yds and died in the creek. IMAG0020.jpg Some more pictures.

It is a bit of a drive, isn't it? My wife and I are driving to WY next month from NC. Taking my truck, but with all those miles, it sure would be nice to have her Prius' gas mileage. It's just not great off-road.:)
Yes it was a haul! Lucky for me my truck runs off of unleaded and propane. I was able to go 800 miles before filling up. I filled up at my plant before I left and then again at my buddy's plant in Dallas for free. After that I filled up in Farmington, N. M. for $1.49. That's sure easier on the pocketbook. I think I only burned maybe 4 tanks of unleaded. I love driving across the country. Love the change of scenery. Enjoy your trip and have fun.
