I got poor penetration on a Muley with the 100 grain 2 blade. Scared me enough that I switched before my elk hunt that year.
I've shot several whitetail with them, they have all passed through & buried in the ground anywhere from 20 - 47 yards. My buddy shot a 5X5 bull elk last year at 70 yards. It did not pass completely through but it penetrated both lungs. However I do replace the blades after I shoot one. The pressed aluminum is soft, I don't trust sharpening them.

I prefer mechanicals over fixed heads (rage 2 blade), mainly because I value accuracy over indestructibleness. It's harder to be accurate with fixed blades if you end up having to shoot over 50 yrds. If I knew i was always going to shoot 40 yards or less then i would go fixed blade, but thats not reality. As much tuning as I do, mechanicals still fly better. In my opinion an inch or two difference at 50 yards makes a difference, especially when you add in all the other variables than can cause you to be off.

I've never had a mechanical not open up. I have had blades bend because I hit a rib. Not ideal, but if accurate and you hit him in the right place that's just fine. A well placed half a 2 inch blade is better than a slightly off fixed in my opinion.

Anything is possible but the guy who said he's double lunged a doe and shot two coyotes and didn't have a blood trial must not have been using Rage or he had bad shot placement. I've shot both and it's always a bloody mess. Entrance and exit wounds look like they animal was hit with an axe.
I'm pretty quick to admit when I'm wrong, or have made a bad shot.... But, the rage broadheads I ran through the doe and the two coyotes were about as perfect as you can get... After I shot the doe, I even said to myself "She'll be done within 75 yards, it's early, I'll keep hunting." The shots on both coyotes and the doe were all within 15 yards, it was pretty easy to see where the arrow went in, and was going out.
A lot of guys have had success with the rages, I'm just not one of them

I shoot the Rage 2 blade also 100 grain. They are awesome!
I shot a bull with the rage at 40 yards and my arrow only went in about half way. The next year I used them again and shot a big bull at 20 yards in what looked like the sweet spot right behind the shoulder and the arrow only went in 4 inches. I saw the bull twice before he went into the trees and blood behind his shoulder looked good but the blood trail dried up and I couldnt find him. There was no damage to the broadhead so im not sure if I hit shoulder or what. I switched to heavier arrows and G5 T3 broadheads.

I like G5's but over 30 yards I could not get them to group. They are tuff & will penetrate a cement block at 20 yards. Saw it first hand at a local archery shop.

I shoot the T3'S for deer size game but my state won't let you shoot expandables at elk has anybody had any trouble with the Trophy Taker Shuttles I'm leaning towards those I've shot Muzzies and Montec's and I'm not really impressed with those.

+1 on the WAC'm.
Shot a pig today with a 4 blade 100gr. Went in right behind the ear and exited the off side hind quarter and buried 6 " into the rocky ground.
Great blood trail and complete penetration. Hope they work that well on my elk this year.

For my stick bows I use old style Bear Razorheads or Zwikey Eskimos. If I'm shooting with training wheels I use 4 blade Muzzies in either 100 or 125 grain. My theory is that if there are moving parts there is a chance of failure, mechanicals must also use part of their energy to open and since I shoot fairly low poundage it's a trade off I'm not willing to make.

I've been using the Slick Trick Standards (100 gr.) for the last few years now and they are awesome.

Just bought some shuttle t locks, since Idaho won't let you shoot mechanicals. Shot them tonight out to 50 yards, with field point accuracy. Super quiet too, not like my g5 monteks. I like these new heads.
