Exit from a 62 gr Barnes TTSX out of a 223. Out of five deer with this combo, my daughter and I have had five exit wounds.

What range are you limiting that 223 round to? Love AR?s for whitetail.

The farthest was about 100 yds but that was a neck shot. The other 4 were all heart/lung between 35 and 65 yards. Although the exit holes aren’t that big, that little bullet really tears up the heart and lungs. Before my daughter shot her first deer, I warned her that it would run after being shot. Her doe just dropped. I was sure she had missed high and hit the spine but she had taken off the top of the heart and hit the lungs.

30-06 150 gr Sierra Pro Hunter at about 2900 fps, shot was 225 yards. Exit wound. He kicked at hit, flipped around slightly and that was it - distance traveled was about 2 feet.
